This Darjeeling Tea Blog is the official blog of Thunderbolt Tea. For so long Thunderbolt Tea never had an official blog of its own – we are creating it after 7 years of its online presence. Benoy, owner of Thunderbolt Tea, used to blog from time to time from his personal blog, Darjeeling Cuppa, but as it was “personal”, no real company updates were possible.

It was becoming difficult for us to do updates and inform clients and friends regarding news and offers, so we had to come up with this Darjeeling Tea blog. Here you will find updates on our new Darjeeling Tea arrivals, offer updates when available and not to forget the Darjeeling Tea stories that will follow from time to time
Why Darjeeling Tea stories? Well, Darjeeling Tea is one brew which can be compared to a ‘crystal ball’ where tremendous amount of history and cultural impact is involved in the making. To read this crystal ball and to appreciate Darjeeling Tea better, we assume that it will be a good idea to read about it in the form of stories – stories that are factual and culture oriented, stories that can give you better understanding and stories that can make you appreciate Darjeeling Tea more!

Thunderbolt Tea
Thunderbolt Tea is a tea company based in Darjeeling (yes, in the heart of Darjeeling town and we are not bluffing to increase sales :)). It started in a small way by buying small amounts of tea from different Darjeeling tea gardens and it was only in the year 2004 that it could launch its official site online. Since then, it has been actively involved in procuring exotic varieties of organic Darjeeling Teas from various reputed Darjeeling Tea plantations. Thunderbolt Tea aims at promoting Darjeeling Tea ethically and simultaneously provide Darjeeling Tea lovers with an authentic and exotic Darjeeling Tea variety. During each new tea season (namely Darjeeling First Flush, Darjeeling Second Flush and Darjeeling Autumn Flush) Thunderbolt Tea (Benoy Thapa+) either runs down to the tea gardens or accumulates numerous Darjeeling tea samples from which rigorous tea tastings are done and only the best Darjeeling Tea varieties picked and offered to tea lovers around the world. All Darjeeling teas are procured during peak quality time and not during a time when the tea quality has degraded. The main aim of Thunderbolt Tea is to promote and offer high quality Darjeeling Teas.
